Is "insurance" a swear word?.... Not if it helps to keep the roof over your head. My recommendation has always been ASU (Accident - Sickness and Unemployment) insurance to pay your mortgage payments.
Protect your greatest asset.... If you had a money making machine you would certainly insure it against breaking down. Think about it! You are, "a money making machine", as long as you have the ability and opportunity to work. So protect your greatest assets, your ability to earn an income, and your mortgage.
